Alternative Valentine’s Dates In London

It's nearly that time of year again!

Valentines falls on a Saturday this year, which, in our humble opinion, is the most perfect of all days. Why?

Well you don’t have to worry about waking up early for work the next day and more importantly, you have the whole day to woo and serenade your date! Perfect!

If you’re in charge of planning the most romantic day of the year for you and your date, you’re in luck! You’ll be spoilt for choice with all London has to offer, but we're scrapping the idea of a candle lit dinner and the exchanging of cheesy cards and making it even more memorable with our list of alternative dating ideas for you and your valentine to enjoy…

Dinner in the Dark
There are several places around London which offer dining in pitch black. Whether you wear a mask or the entire restaurant is unlit, this experience should heighten all your other senses, giving you a feeling of intimacy. Now this is something you could set up yourself at home, but then you’d be at a huge risk of injury and embarrassment. Leave it to the professionals!

Chocolate Workshop
Valentine’s Day would be nothing without chocolate. Surprise your date with a chocolate making workshop then enjoy over candle light and a glass of fizz.

Museums
Lots of spectacular London museums open particularly late on Saturdays and they are usually quiet. Slowly wander the endless corridors hand in hand whilst impressing your date with knowledge of the arts this Valentines.

Climb the O2
Not one for the faint at heart but if your date is up for an adventure, this is a great date. Get your heart pumping and take in the breath-taking views of the London sky-line as you climb over the O2 arena.

The London Eye
Day or night, the London Eye is the place to be for spectacular panoramic views across the city. Why not enjoy each others company for half an hour with a private pod and make it extra special by surprising your date with chocolates and champagne.

Cocktail class
Everybody loves a Tom Collins, magnificent martini or the quintessential cosmo so why not try a cocktail making class? It's no secret that London has some of very best cocktail bars and plenty offer classes - maybe you could invent a whole new one and name it after your date?! Ahhh

Thames Speed Boat
More style, more speed, more swarve? Maybe! Try the exciting Thames Speed Boat ride for a more exciting high powered date guaranteed to be exhilarating and unforgettable. There are also Sunset Speed-boating dates available too if you want to include some of the traditional romance.

London Zoo
After all who doesn't love the zoo?! Stroll hand in hand chatting about the animals, and enjoy a picnic complete with a flask of warm hot chocolate - after all it's cold out there. Why not stop by the souvenir shop on your way out for small gift to remember the day by - it’ll have sentimental value and always remind you both of an amazing day.

Edible Cinema
This is exactly what it says on the tin! Enjoy your favourite cult classics and the scenes that have stolen our attention through taste…. from an Angelica infused gin atomiser to a fuzzy lollipop, this is the perfect date for anyone who loves their films and their food.

It's not too late to find a date this Valentines!
