Summer Lovin' Date Inspiration!

Summer has arrived! It’s time for BBQs, beer gardens, trips to the seaside and ice-cream….fingers crossed the weather will be as lovely this year as it was the last. Being the eternal optimists that we are, we’re sure that there will be days and days of beautiful sunshine ahead, so we’ve put together a little list of summer date inspiration….

1) The Seaside!
A trip to the seaside is a must during the summer holidays. Arcades, funfairs, dinky donuts and sticks of rock – so you’re not 12 anymore but a bit of nostalgia does wonders for romance. Brighton and Great Yarmouth are a great option for the above features, but if you fancy something a bit quieter and more relaxed, St Ives, Cornwall, is beautiful.

2) Water Balloon Fight

Call up your guy or girl and ask them to come over, present them with a bucket of pre-prepared water balloons and run!! Super fun, playful, and perfect for hot summer days.

3) Custom-made Drive-ins
Drive-In movies are pretty hard to find – they tend to be as part of a festival or event, but they are incredibly romantic so if you can’t find one, just DIY it. Charge up your laptop, pack some snacks and a blanket and head to a quiet spot in the countryside. Much more intimate and special than just sitting on the couch with a DVD!

4) BBQ
So what if there’s only two of you? We’re in Britain; if the sun is shining we should really have a BBQ. Both of you can contribute to the food supplies (whilst showing off your incredible cookery skills) and bond over burgers and potato salad. Make up a Spotify playlist of summer favourites (yes, we do mean UB40, Beach Boys and Peter Andre), get your finest plastic plates out and have a party.

5) Picnic
And of course,  the less smoky BBQ, the Picnic. Pack a hamper, pick a quiet spot, and light some lemon candles to keep away those pesky pests.

6) Strawberry Picking
Strawberry picking is a great way to get outdoors, do something active AND get to know your date. Afterwards you can take your pickings home and bake together – cute, hey? Click here to finda Pick-Your-Own-Farm near you >>

7) Tee Up!

Golf is a lovely way to enjoy the outdoors in a relaxed environment. Crazy golf or the real thing, you can bond over your mutual terribleness at it or help the other out with your golfing expertise.
