There are 3 times more people using online dating now than 3 years ago!
Despite online dating being the norm for many of us new research by Pew Research Center has revealed the amount of young adults looking for love online has tripled since 2013! Yes, 27% of young adults (18 to 24 years old) are now looking for love online compared to only 10% back in 2013.
Why? The increase has been due to how we live our lives and how we use our phones – for everything - according to the research.
Aaron Smith, from Pew Research Centre said, "The rapid growth we’ve seen in dating apps use speaks both to the changing nature of dating among younger folks today, and also the extent to which these apps are in many ways perfectly in line with the way that cohort interacts with the world."
What we think… Online dating is no longer the ‘big deal’ it once was or something to be frowned upon, in fact it’s pretty cute telling people you met online in our experience.
About 80% of people who responded to the study who have used online dating agree it's a good way to meet people, and 62% said it helps them find better dates because they can get to know more people before meeting in person.
