offers a wonderful alternative to modern shopping centres, particularly within
the gorgeous Edwardian and Victorian arcades, along with the fantastic Central
Market. From beautiful antiques to hand-crafted Welsh love spoons (oh yes!),
the arcades literally sell anything. Take a break from browsing and enjoy a
spot of afternoon tea in one of the lovely cafes, before heading to one of our
favourite shops in the city, Spillers Records. With the title of oldest record store in the
world, it was established in 1894 and specialises in independent music from all
genres. Get lost in the racks of vinyl and find out about each other’s music
tastes… it might be a deal-breaker!!
Cardiff
city centre is renowned for its nightlife and every weekend sees a huge influx
of stag and hen parties, as well as locals from the surrounding valleys,
descending on the city centre. The most popular venues can be found on
St. Mary Street, Mill Lane and Greyfriars Road, with a massive choice of bars and clubs to suit every occasion. If you don’t fancy the clubbing
delights of the East End then Cardiff has a fantastic array of large venues,
which attract world-class touring shows and music productions. The MotorpointArena hosts major gigs and the Wales Millennium Centre is the venue for fantastic
musical concerts, whilst the New Theatre presents the best in performing arts.
