Top Dates in Cambridge

Looking for some dating inspiration in Cambridge? We’ve pulled together a list of our favourite places, enjoy!

Cambridge Arts Picture House
An absolute gem of a cinema, the Cambridge Art’s Picture House is located right in the centre of town on St Andrews Street. Showing mainstream and independent films, the 3 screen cinema is a cool alternative to the classic cinema date. And they’ve also got a pretty great bar where they exhibit local artwork. Lovely!

Punting on the River Cam
What sort of blog about Cambridge would this be if we didn’t include punting?! The most beautiful way to see the colleges, wind through the city and out into the countryside taking in the breath-taking views! And at this time of year, Strawberries and Pimms are of course compulsory.

Beers at The Mill

Sitting on Mill Pond and Sheeps Green, The Mill over looks River Cam and the punting stations. Grab a bench, a local cask beer and enjoy the buzzing atmosphere of this fantastic pub. It’s the perfect option for a first date…

The Fitzwilliam Museum

One of Cambridge’s most popular tourist attractions, the Fitzwilliam Museum houses a vast collection of antiquities from Ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome – as well as regular exhibitions. And here’s a little bit of knowledge you can impress your date with…

The museum was founded by Richard VII Viscount Fitzwilliam of Merrion, who in 1816 bequeathed to the University of Cambridge his works of art and library, together with the funds to house them – he wanted to further ‘the Increase of Learning and other great Objects of that Noble Foundation.’ Obviously.

Wander around Milton Country Park
For the first date or so it’s all about chatting, and really getting to know your date – and a country walk is a great way to do it. Milton Country Park covers 95 acres of varied natural habitat interlaced with over 2 miles of paths, suitable for walking (and cycling).

Cocktails at La Raza

Our favourite cocktail venue in the city centre, La Raza is the perfect place for after-work cocktails. Their bar men and ladies are experts in mixology and serve up only the best in cosmos, mojitos, margaritas..etc. AND they have a happy hour that runs from 4pm to 7pm and 9pm to 10pm from Monday to Friday.
The bar also hosts lots of live music events, so it’s well worth checking out what’s on!

Dinner at Midsummer House
If you really want to impress, and have an unforgettable evening, dinner at Midsummer House is definitely the way to go. Located on the historic grounds of Midsummer Common, it’s the only 2 star Michelin restaurant in East Anglia. With head chef Daniel Clifford in the kitchen, the restaurant was also awarded the 14th best restaurant in the UK in Waitrose’s Good Food Guide 2014.

Clifford’s cooking has been described as having a ‘modern-focus which is underpinned by classical French technique offering seriously sophisticated food with dishes arriving dresses to thrill.’
....so, it's basically any MasterChef watchers dream. Start practising your best 'Greg's happy face' face now.

Now you’re ready to roam free in the Cambridgeshire wildnerness….and be sure to Find a Date to hold hands with…
