1) Little Clarendon Street
On a summer’s evening, wandering down Little Clarendon Street is a bit like being in some cosmopolitan European cobbled street….sort of. A space that’s dedicated to lovely restaurants, cute cocktails bars and trendy pubs – all adorned by fairy lights. And who doesn’t love a fairy light?!
2) Raoul's Cocktail Bar
Speaking of cocktails – just a two minute walk from Little Clarendon Street, you’ll find Raoul’s Cocktail Bar. One of Europe’s finest cocktail bars, this trendy hot spot is the perfect venue for a first date. Choose a cocktail from their vast menu, or take advantage of the expert knowledge of the barmen and ladies and get your own created.
3) The Old Bookbinders
Hidden away in Jericho, The Old Bookbinders sits right next to Port Meadow – so after a stroll around the pretty meadow it’s the perfect respite. The pub itself is a fusion of traditional English pub with tasty French cuisine. So...the English provide the beer and the French provide the food, which is of course a recipe for success.
5) The Isis Farmhouse
Double check opening times as during the winter this place is often closed. But in the Summer, it is by far the greatest pub in the Cotswolds (ok, we have no research or stats to prove this but we challenge anyone to visit The Isis and not feel exactly the same way). Follow the canal from The Head of the River in the city centre, and it’s about a 40 minute walk before you reach the pub. But the Cotswold Cider & Beer, and delicious food are worth the exercise!

6) The Covered Market
The covered market is a little treasure trove of delights amidst the hustle and bustle of the city centre. From butchers to bakeries, florists and gift shops there’s plenty to explore. Including the Oldest Ham in the World, dating back to 1832 – where else could you see something like that?! There’s also a ton of cute cafes where you can rest your laurels after all that excitement.

An awesome little cinema sitting on Cowley Road, the Ultimate Picture Palace is a great alternative to the classic cinema date. More intimate and relaxed (possibly due to the bar at the back of the theatre!), and a mix of alternative and mainstream films, it’s a lovely date destination.
8) Atomic Burger
Just opposite the Picturehouse is Atomic Burger, the perfect pre-cinema dining option! A retro design and a menu inspired by the films and comics of our childhood, their burgers, shakes, wings, ribs and puds are the best in town! Try out the Dead Elvis burger (that’s a Burger topped with Swiss cheese, American cheese, bacon & onions), with a side of SCI Fries (double fried with a chilli rub), and a chocolate shake. YUM
9) G & D's Cafe
For late night ice-cream and waffles, George & Davis Icecream Cafe is the place to be! The cafe is open till midnight and has an amazing selection of icecreams, desserts and hot drinks. There's 4 branches dotted around the city - each with their own little quirks and features!
PittRivers is home to the University of Oxford’s collection of anthropology and world archaeology.
